Dailysportscar’s Birch-backed coverage of British GT continues with Mo Rehman reporting from the penultimate round at Brands Hatch.

The iconic Kent circuit has hosted more British GT rounds than any other venue in the United Kingdom, and delivered another dramatic race of nose-to-tail action.

A two-hour endurance thriller added twists to both the GT3 and GT4 class title fights as the UK-based championship heads towards the climactic end of the 2025 season.

2 Seas Motorsport continued their sublime campaign with Kiern Jewiss and Charles Dawson earning their fourth race victory in their #42 Mercedes and a 28.5-point lead over Blackthorn AMR’s Giacomo Petrobelli and four-time champion Jonny Adam.

2 Seas’ historic win gave Mercedes their first overall British GT victory at Brands and sealed this year’s Teams’ title for the Anglo-Bahraini squad.

Teammates Maxi Götz and Kevin Tse claimed pole position in the #18 Mercedes, but a 20-second pit stop success penalty halted their charge before they finished seventh, falling from second to fourth in the championship battle.

Optimum Motorsport won the ‘Team of the Weekend’ award after triumphing in both categories, headlined by McLaren factory talent Marvin Kirchhöfer finishing second at the checkered flag with teammate Morgan Tillbrook, and only a stone’s throw behind Jewiss.

The #77 McLaren drivers have joined the title fight at the right time and now sit level in second with Blackthorn’s #7 Vantage pairing.

Petrobelli carried out a brilliant opening stint, taking the lead at Druids on Tse before their winning hopes suffered a blow after a drive-through penalty for using a fan to cool the car on the grid.

After Petrobelli’s masterful recovery to fourth position, Blackthorn AMR could have easily taken the championship lead, yet it was not to be at Brands.

Barwell Motorsport’s Hugo Cook delivered the #1 Lamborghini Huracan to a consecutive third-place finish after his teammate and reigning champion, Rob Collard, turned

in strong race pace during his opening stint before overcoming their 10-second pit success penalty.

Jewiss and Dawson now have one hand on the GT3 title ahead of the Donington decider.

In GT4, former Ginetta graduate Luke Garlick made his mid-season comeback with Mahiki Racing as the outfit brought him along at his home circuit to partner Blake Angliss in the #69 Ginetta G56 GT4 Evo.

Mahiki’s #84 Ginetta duo, Jack Mitchell and Josh Miller, took pole position, but their race took a turn for the worse after just 22 minutes in.

The #84 Ginetta caught fire, ending its chances of converting pole into victory.

The GT4 title fight also saw Marc Warren and Jack Brown lose their championship lead after crashing out just two corners into the race.

Warren’s #90 Optimum Motorsport McLaren Artura and Century Motorsport’s Ravi Ramyead in his #71 BMW M4 GT4 Evo made brief side-by-side contact at Druids, enough to send the #90 McLaren into the barriers.

Ramyead’s teammate, Charlie Robertson, brought home second and regained the title lead by just 3.5 points over the #90 McLaren crew, keeping the GT4 title fight wide open between the two crews.

It was not all bad news for Optimum Motorsport in GT4 after Harry George and Luca Hopkinson secured their maiden GT4 victory in the team’s other #17 Artura.

All eyes now turn to Donington Park on October 5th, where the GT3 and GT4 crowns will finally be decided.
