Whilst Birch’s very own tame racing driver, Tom Chilton will be out in action for the BTCC third round at Snetterton for the British GT third round it’s time for an Oulton Park outing where Birch-backed Dailysportscar will be keeping on top of the action with eager news hound Mo Rehman.
With two of the four Endurance Cup rounds in the books, the British GT Championship travels to Oulton Park in Cheshire this weekend for the first sprint races.
The 2.6-mile circuit, which has often hosted the curtain raiser in recent years, presents a huge challenge for both driver and machine in a multi-class competition. It's narrow, it's undulating, and the runoff area at many corners is at a premium.
The probability of incidents is ramped up, securing a strong grid position is hugely important, and come the end of the season, the points gained or lost during these two 60-minute races may prove critical for the championship standings.

The spotlight is shining bright on 2 Seas Motorsport's Charles Dawson and Keirn Jewiss ahead of the track action, as the pair look to pull away further from the pack with their Mercedes-AMG after their magnificent start to 2025.
Winning Round 1 at Donington and collecting the full set of winner's points for finishing second behind a guest-entered car at Silverstone has presented them with a healthy 30-point lead over Optimum Motorsport's Marvin Kirchhofer and Morgan Tillbrook.
But stringing together three big results in a row in this championship is beyond tough, with such a deep GT3 field all hungry for silverware and Pitstop compensation time to deal with. Barwell Motorsport's Lamborghinis will fancy their chances after winning both Oulton sprints in 2024 and Blackthorn's Jonny Adam and Giacomo Petrobelli look poised to build on their strong result at Silverstone.

The GT4 standings, meanwhile, present a stark contrast. The field may be smaller - with the Endurance Cup-only cars parked until the race at Spa next month - but the competition will be no less fierce.
All eyes are on the top two pairings. Jack Brown and Marc Warren from Optimum Motorsport find themselves joint points leaders with Ravi Ramyead and Charlie Robertson from Century Motorsport with 64.5 points, 30 points clear of Team Parker's Ed McDermott and Seb Morris.

Will another contender emerge from the pack? Rob Boston Racing fancies its chances, and Mahiki Racing looks increasingly desperate to convert raw speed into podium finishes with its trio of Lotus Emiras.
Either way, the stakes are high for this Bank Holiday clash, which you can follow over on dailysportscar.com all weekend long. Race 1 is set to get underway on Monday, May 26th at 10:45, ahead of Race 2 later in the day at 15:50. You can stream it live for free over on the GT World YouTube Channel.
